About Wiesbaden Association of Good Neighbors

The Wiesbaden Association of Good Neighbors is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the cause of strengthening German-American relations.

It was founded in 1956 by leading members of the U.S. military and German community as a means of establishing new ties between the people of two nations who had been at war with each other a few years earlier.

To serve the cause of freedom and democracy by developing and supporting the bonds of friendship between German and American citizens in Wiesbaden. As a charitable organization, to raise money for the work of our parent organization, The Federation of German-American Clubs, in student exchange and youth programs.

Our open forum of communication and friendship is our regular meeting on the first Thursday of every month. It is a Stammtisch, a get-together in an informal atmosphere for discussion of the latest events, perhaps a little club business, while enjoying traditional German food and drink.

To learn more about the German or American culture and lifestyle, trips and activities are planned, guest speakers invited and special events scheduled. Some events are traditional, such as the Associations annual Asparagus Dinner in the late Spring or Christmas Dinner in December.

The club is managed by an Executive Board who are elected by the General Membership for a two year term.

The official language is English

Annual membership dues are currently set at 50,- €
